A few weeks ago I got to photograph two of the cutest Spaniels I’ve ever met! These guys are “Boykin Spaniels“… a breed I’d never heard of until meeting them. They are actually the Official State Dog of South Carolina. That’s your fun-fact for the day! 🙂 These two are such charmers and were so much fun to photograph with their adoring mom, Tracye.

Tracye adopted Archie 4 years ago when her Australian shepherd, Wrangler, died.  Archie is the big one on the left.  They like to do agility and all kinds of fun stuff together. When she adopted him, he had heart worms and went through the quick kill treatment and did wonderfully.   Then Tracye got Jesse from the same shelter in February of this year.  He also had heart worms, along with Kennel cough, pneumonia, broken tooth, needed neutering, and heart worm treatment.  This was one of the reasons our session was delayed for a few months. She wanted him healthy for his special photo session.  He will start agility this week.  They both bring her so much joy!

This session is part of the new North Richland Hills Animal Adoption and Rescue Center (NRHAARC) fundraiser to help raise money for their new building.  You too can honor your pet by having their photo displayed on the walls of the new shelter.  For more details, please visit the NRHAARC donation page for other ways to be a part of the new shelter!

Tracye adopted both Archie and Jessie from the Grand Prairie Animal Shelter.
