I did a fundraiser on Sunday to raise money for the Flower Mound Humane Society. Thank you to Patricia at The Nosey Dog for always letting us use her boutique to hold the photo sessions! She has a wonderful shop and self service dog wash on Justin Road in Flower Mound, Tx. We had a great day with many fabulous dogs! Thank you to all the families that brought their adorable pups in to be photographed for a great cause!!

I can’t believe I haven’t blogged about my darling Felix yet.  Please meet Felix. We adopted him the week before Christmas from the DFW Pug Rescue. Those of you that know me know that I LOVE pugs (and bullmastiffs & Mastiffs… I know a HUGE difference, right?! lol). After we got our little miss Olive, we realized very quickly that our 13 year old Border Collie mix (Sadie) would probably not be a very good playmate for Olive. So our hunt began… what kind of dog do we get? Well, knowing Sadie and her cranky self, we knew we either needed a puppy or a very small dog. She doesn’t do well with change at her age (or competition). We decided since Sadie is still going strong that we didn’t want two big dogs again (we previously had a bullmastiff who passed away before we got Olive) and so a pug it was. We met Felix (previous named Tripper because he was found at a Quick Trip gas station) at a DFW Pug adoption event and just fell in love. He fits so perfectly into our family. He’s so loving and playful and just so darn stinkin cute!!!!! So here he is… Running with my youngest son… until wait!… is that another dog to play with?! lol  Yes, our neighbors dog, Buster was watching us have all the fun!

This is Grace. Brave. Beautiful. Big (now anyways!). When she was brought into rescue at GPMR (Great Plains Mastiff Rescue) she was only 62 pounds. She was the worst starvation case they’d ever seen. That was in June.  She was rescued off the side of a highway, brought to rescue, put in the ICU, nursed back to health, and put into a foster home. I was supposed to photograph her back in October but she found her forever home. She was adopted by a wonderful family that continued to nurture her. I was disappointed I missed out on photographing her because I so wanted to meet her after hearing her story.  She was such a success story that they asked if I would photograph her anyways so they could have before and after pictures to send out to all the wonderful people that donated for her care.  So… here she is… over twice her weight in June… at 125.6 lbs!!! She was so kind and gentle when I met her. She was actually really hard to shoot because she just kept wanting to crawl up into my lap!  She also had the softest fur I’d ever felt on a Mastiff… just like silk! She is one lucky girl to have found such a loving home.  Actually they are the lucky ones!

Last weekend I had the wonderful opportunity to raise money for the Humane Society of Flower Mound. With the help of The Nosey Dog Pet Spa and Boutique, I photographed over 24 dogs in 5 hours.  I posted my favorites on my Facebook page, but thought I’d share some outtakes here. Many of the dogs were adopted from the Humane Society. All of them were super sweet!!! If you are considering adding a pet to your family, please check out your local animal shelter or humane society. There are so many wonderful and loving animals that needs homes.

You can tell by all the tongue action, there was a LOT of treats being had at this pet photo session!
