I’m so excited to share that the Humane Society of Flower Mound‘s “Love On Wheels” program has just rescued it’s 100th dog! Please meet Penny! Penny will be available for adoption soon in DeWitt, NY with Helping Hounds Dog Rescue.

HSFM started this program just a few months ago and has saved so many dogs facing euthanasia here in N. Texas in just a short amount of time. If you want to help, it’s so easy (and fun!). There are lots of ways to help. You can become a short term foster (2-3 weeks) until they are transported to NY to a fantastic rescue that actually has a shortage of dogs. It costs HSFM approximately $150 to send a dog 1500 miles to DeWitt, NY and give him or her a chance at a new life through Love on Wheels. You can also donate. When you sign up to be a Love on Wheels supporter, they’ll email you a picture and biography of a Love on Wheels dog YOU helped save. At the Long Haul Trucker level, they’ll also send you a Love on Wheels t-shirt. Please sign up today to be part of this lifesaving program! If you want more information on this program, visit HSFM Love On Wheels.

The Love on Wheels program’s mission is to alleviate the dog overcrowding problem in DFW area shelters by transporting adoptable dogs to areas where demand for adoptable dogs cannot currently be met. HSFMpays for all the veterinary care to prepare a dog for transport to our partners back east. None of that cost is recouped with an adoption fee like dogs that we place up for adoption here in Texas. The receiving group gets an adoption fee, but that goes to pay the cost of transporting the dogs.

Meet Penny, one of 100 dogs that has been saved from euthanasia so far. She also is my foster 🙂 She is just a puppy and so lucky to have a chance at a wonderful life with one very lucky family very soon!

I don’t think I can say it enough… but I am so very proud to be a part of HeARTs Speak!  They are such an amazing non-profit organization that does so much to help homeless animals in need.  Recently, HeARTs Speak was featured in Cesar’s Way Magazine for the work they do to promote homeless shelter dogs and cats with beautiful photography.

I was honored that they chose one of my images of Turner to use in the article as well as several other HeARTs Speak members photography!  Learn more about HeARTs Speak Founder and President,  Lisa Prince Fishler, in the April 2013 issue as well. She’s a true inspiration!

AKA “Dude” is available for adoption with the Humane Society of Flower Mound.

What a teddy bear! I would love a bigger yard and a bigger house and a bigger dog food budget… Then I’d adopt him in a heart beat. Until then, someone else will be very lucky to adopt this 3 year old, 150 lbs, male “fluffy” English Mastiff.

Toby is a 2 year old, 78 lb, Great Pyrenees mix. While he has the beautiful white coat of a Pyr, he is more slender & lanky than a Pyr. We don’t know what he is mixed with, but we do know that he is a sweet, loving, sometimes goofy boy! He has no aggressive behavior, but he is very loyal, and that sometimes causes him to be overly protective of his foster mom. Toby had a medical problem with his knee, but HSFM paid for his surgery, and his foster mom has nursed him back to almost a full recovery. He now plays & romps with the other dogs in his foster home, and he would do best in a home with another dog. He will be a very good walking companion, but not a jogging companion. He walks well on a leash, and rides well in the car. He is a couch potato much of the time, and likes hanging out on his fluffy dog bed. Toby feels secure when he is near his people, and will not do well in a home where his people are gone for long hours. Toby is a loving, sweet, big boy who would benefit from additional obedience training. His adopters will need to be patient with him, and provide positive reinforcement. In return, Toby will be a lifelong, loyal & loving companion. Please visit for more information or to fill out an application.

Miss Sassy is my new foster dog and available for adoption through Southwest English Setter Rescue. Sassy is an English Setter mix.  She’s good with kids, cats & dogs… actually would do best with other dogs. She is also housebroken and crate trained. She is 5 years old and about 45 lbs. She needs a home that will be patient with some of her fears so she can learn to know trust and love for the rest of her life. I promise you… she is worth it! ♥

When she came to my home, it took her about 4 or 5 days to acclimate to her new surroundings but she’s really thriving now… playing with my dogs, asking to be pet, and really wanting to be a part of the family. She is such a sweet and gentle girl.

Sassy went in for heartworm treatment yesterday 1/31/13). She will then will be on “bed rest” for 30 days.

If you are interested in an English Setter, but Sassy is not the right fit?… please visit Southwest English Setter Rescue for more that need homes.
